Step 1: Download and Install the X Smart Home App
Step 2: Registration and Account Setup
- Open the X Smart Home app after installation.
- Register for a new account or log in if you already have one.
- Follow the on-screen instructions to set up your account.
Step 3: Add Your Device
- Ensure your X Smart Home device is powered on and within range of your smartphone.
- In the app, tap on "Add Device" or a similar option.
- Follow the in-app prompts to connect your device to your Wi-Fi network. This usually involves scanning a QR code on the device or entering your Wi-Fi credentials.
- The Doorbell does not support 5G Wi-Fi. Be sure to select the 2.5G Wi-Fi
- Wait for the device to connect to your network. This may take a few moments.
Step 4: Pair Doorbell & Dingdong
- Plug Dingdong in the power source
- Long press the Dingdong match button for 2 seconds, and the indicator light suggests entering pairing mode.
- Press the doorbell button once, and the second devices will pair with each other, after paired successfully, the indicator lights off
Troubleshooting on pairing
- During pairing both devices should be as close as possible
- Make sure the doorbell is fully charged
- After pairing, the indicator light will automatically turn off
Step 5: Device Configuration
- Once your device is connected, you can configure its settings within the app. This may include naming the device, setting up notifications, and adjusting security preferences.
Step 6: Explore the App Features
- The X Smart Home app provides various features to control and monitor your device:
- Live Video Feed: Access real-time video streaming from your doorbell camera.
- Notifications: Receive alerts for motion detection or when someone rings the doorbell.
- Two-Way Communication: Communicate with visitors using the app's built-in microphone and speaker.
- Remote Access: Control and view your device remotely from anywhere with an internet connection.
- Recordings: Access and review recorded video footage if your device supports it.
- Device Management: Add, configure, or remove additional devices as needed.
Step 7: Customize Settings
- Adjust app settings to fit your preferences. You can typically customize notifications, video quality, motion sensitivity, and more.
Step 8: Monitor and Interact
- Keep an eye on your doorstep by accessing the live video feed through the app.
- When someone rings the doorbell, use the two-way communication feature to interact with visitors.
- Review recorded footage, if available, to check for any missed events.
